There are two reasons for this blog: 1) I have spent most of my life reading, writing, and beta reading fanfic, and, 2) my mind requires list-type things. I scour the internet for good HP rec sites and I don't come across much. There are a few, but not nearly enough. Most HP fanfiction houses are filled with just as much bad fic as good, and I know how daunting it is to have to sift through shit. But maybe that's half of the fun.
I could also go into the political side of things - Certain fics are lauded because their authors are someone "special;" I have issues with Fiction Alley and The Sugar Quill over this outright favoritism and I don't see that changing any time soon. As it stands, this is just a little girl making lists. Feel free to leave comments and even other recs.
I have no issues with slash or gen or het and I plan on recommending everything I come across that's good. (And I promise that I know that my opinion is subjective!) My favorite character is Lupin, though, so the first batch of recs will include him; however, I'll try to be open-minded and move on from him soon enough.

Writing Suggestions from Yours Truly, Number Three
Don't put author's notes every chapter. Don't over-rely on footnotes. Don't ask for reviews. Don't use smileys. It's unnecessary. Just post the goddamn story.
